Pulsar is a fast, modern blog theme built with Tailwind CSS, ready to use out of the box and easy to personalize through a single config file.
It ships minimal JavaScript and pre-renders all pages as static HTML. Your blog posts are type-safe and validated at build time through Astro Content Collections, with tag pages, reading time estimates, and previous/next navigation generated automatically. Images are served as WebP with fallbacks for older browsers.
Dark mode works without a flash of unstyled content and persists across sessions — code blocks follow it too, with Shiki highlighting in GitHub Light and Dark. SEO is handled comprehensively: meta tags, Open Graph, Twitter Cards, JSON-LD structured data, automatic sitemap generation, canonical URLs, and an RSS feed with autodiscovery. Google Analytics 4 (production-only, with reading-engagement events), a portfolio page, and social links for GitHub, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube are supported out of the box.
Named after pulsars, the rotating neutron stars that emit powerful beams of radiation, because it's fast, reliable, and a little dramatic.
